Our plan for community service was that we planned to meet up altogether over break. This for me was supposed to be before December 25 so I did have a few days to do it together with my other group members. This is mostly based on if we were going to work together as three people and not only two. We planned to work together with the methodist church or work with the Institute of Human Services to help and serve for homeless people. However, what actually happened was not the most greatest. With our plan to do what we intended all that we could say is that while we did plan accordingly, we did not actually execute our plan. In other words and to put it simply we did not end up doing anything because we were busy. None of us also called any of the organizations to organize our volunteer time which was also something we could of all done together. Overall, the state of our project was mediocre. I do not think anything went really well. We talked a bit about needing to do the project but we were all busy. So I think our communication went well, kind of, for the most part. But deadpan we did nothing so yes nothing went well. What could of gone better would be many things. Everything could have gone better in general. We should have probably communicated better and made time for each other to get together to do the project. I did not really compensate because I did not end up doing anything either for the project. I also got busy over break like the others. I believe that my understanding of poverty and other UN issues of humanity is improving a bit. I feel more self-aware about the world. Before I felt kind of oblivious or ignorant of any issues out there. Mainly because I thought everything would be focused on politics, but that is connected to UN issues as a whole. So yes, my grasp of the importance of UN issues is getting better. However, I feel like I do not have a full grasp on leadership skills yet. A very good example of that bad leadership would be the fact that we did not do anything. It would probably expand on a higher level after I/we actually engage myself in activities to solve UN issues (which involves more use of leadership skills). |
