Art can be used to showcase and highlight social concerns in history and/or modern society. I know this because I feel that you can't simply just throw things together and hope that it will reach the people you would like to reach out to, but you need to really think about what you are trying to say to the people. You want to reach out to them, and have them understand what you are trying to say, and have your voice be heard along with your feelings. You can give a visual representation of what you are trying to say, and you can do that by creating art pieces, songs, music pieces, and much more. I created an example that you can see below.Below is another example of how you can have your voice be heard with art. I used things around my house to create a poem in regards to my Kahiau topic. In this poem I looked around and saw my jar of change I’ve been saving up, my warm breakfast, a calendar, and my bed. In this poem the jar of change represents savings, “Counting the days till I get paid” the calendar symbolizes this. This poem shows how comfortable it was to live before and during the Great Depression. This poem also shows just a little bit about the state of how people lived in poverty after losing almost everything.
