I think the leadership skills that are needed to address and execute the Big picture is intelligent and respected. You need to be intelligent to know what is going on around your community and the world so you can take action. Some leaders are often intelligent but donʻt do anything or try hard enough to make it right. This leads to why another skill is to be respected by your citizens. It make your job easier if you have people to back you up.
For the Small picture here in Hawaiʻi i think the leadership skills needed to fulfill it is faith and wisdom. You need faith because just like Haunani Kay Trask some people will be against you but you need to have strong faith in what you believe. For Mauna Kea she had to battle the bigger authorities and it was a slim chance of actually winning. But that is when the wisdom and knowledge comes into play. She said herself that you need to be educated in a global perspective to know what is happening around you and to get the most accurate information.
