When we began this project we were aiming to do a beach clean up. But due to recent event we were unable to partner with an organization for it. Now on this Sunday we are going to do a stream clean-up. Although this isn't directly on a beach it does directly affect the ocean. All streams, especially on our islands lead to the ocean. Therefore when we clean this up itʻll be preventing the trash from reaching the ocean.

We decided that it would have more of an impact if we each cleaned up a beach in our home area. We came to this idea because of our busy schedules it is extremely difficult for us to find time and a beach for all of us to come together to. So we compromised and are each cleaning up our own beach. Iʻm really excited for this because maybe we can get some outside help while weʻre cleaning up.Weʻre on the path to creating our clean-up day. Everything is going smoothly, weʻre just trying to work around our busy schedules,
Now that spring break is over and school is back my team and I were discussing a more hands-on way to help our honu's. We decided that we're are going to do a beach clean up and we invite everyone to help. The time and place is still being determined but we'll confirm that soon . We decided that a more hands on project is more impactful to the people as well as the environment. Mahalo!!
This past three day weekend I was talking about fundraising with my dad and we came up with the idea of selling raffle tickets for a new channel islands surf board. I think that this is a really smart and easy way to gain profit for our cause, also my dadʻs friend is the founder of Sustainable Coast Lines Hawaiʻi so I'm going to run that idea across my group.
As of winter break we have all been working hard to collect sea shells and other treasures to create our jewelry for our fundraiser. I have found many cone shells and beach glass, most of which was found at Mākaha Beach. All the sea shells I gathered were free of any sea creatures, and while diving for shells I managed to clean up some trash as well.
