We got an email back from our ideal sponsor "Sustainable Coastlines Hawaiʻi". It was mentioned that clean beaches start at home or even at school. When we pick up after ourselves, then it makes the ʻāina more sustainable. Picking up trash and cleaning where we live is an important part of keeping the places we love (like the beach) clean.

AuthorMy name is Kaylee-Brooke Manuel and I attend Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus. I was born and raised in Nanakuli on the island of O'ahu. Why is this project important?
I donʻt want to see something I love be ruined by debris. Every Sundays, my cousins and I would go to the beach till sunset. We would also go camping in the summers at Nānākuli beach park, swimming all day making memories with my family. The beach is a big part of my life and I wouldn't want to see it filled with waste.
