My current event was on global warming which is a big problem for Hawaiʻi because we live on an island, and when the sea level rises because ice caps are melting, we will be consumed by the ocean. Global warming has been a problem since the late 1800s because of factories and cars emitting CO2. This has only gotten worse though because of more cars on the road today as the main use of transport, and bigger factories for a bigger population. The problem with looking to the past for answers is that there are no answers for this problem. This is a new problem that is being looked at, because back then people didn't know that cars and smoke would hurt the ozone layer and cause climate change, so this is up to the people here today to solve these problems. They showed me lots of ways to spread your message through many sorts of media such as art, videography, and journalism. Because of so many new technological advancements, there are so many ways to spread messages that were unavailable even 30 years ago. We have phones, and the easiest way to spread a message is to go on social media such as facebook or instagram and put out a post and everyone in the world can see it. So with that being said, there can be a countless number of ways to spread a message for the world to see. Fox, C. (2020, November 12). Social media: How might it be regulated?
