How is your project aligned with being a Global Citizenship?? Give personal examples of how this affects you / your community in 2017. Respond in a 7 sentence paragraph minimum.
Our project is aligned with being a Global Citizen because we are thinking of others before ourselves and including ourselves in a greater cause. We are also taking action in our community to help with a global cause. This affects my community because those who don't know about Special Olympics and their needs, will now be educated about them. Also, it gives awareness about people with special needs and what they can and cannot do with their disabilities.

Because we couldn't communicate with the directors at Waiau District Park to get the permit for this upcoming weekend, I am communicating with the head of the Hawaii Youth Soccer Association (HYSA) to possibly do our shoot-a-thon during half-times at games on the weekends at Waipio Soccer Peninsula.
We have set our date for April 23 from 4:00-5:30. We also changed our concept from a soccer camp to a Soccer-Shoot-A-Thon. By doing so, we can target a larger age group and families can make a family-friendly competition out of it too. I finalized the flyer with Tracey Bender from SOH and all we have to do as a group now to prepare for the event is get the permit from Waiau District Park and pass out flyers and send it to MISO and HYSA directors.
