The reason it’s important to know about this topic is because we have to make sure our sources are credible. On social media, anyone can say anything about anything, just like some of the priest back then. In an article by Forbes, they write that "now a new study finds that where people get their news determines whether they believe misinformation." (Escalante) With this being said, understanding that information online can be wrong, we should check the credibility. Especially in today’s world where there are political bias and just bias in general, we can easily mistake an opinion for fact. Even more so it’s important because we are in a democracy. So, by getting the correct information, we can make educated votes and choices.
