My experience was great. From selecting my leaders to putting their pictures together in my poster, I was able to learn that some leaders had similar experiences pertaining to their leadership and monarchy. I really enjoyed playing around with both Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator because I was able to gain the knowledge and skill to mash other pieces of art and meaning to create my own personal interpretation of each picture. I could see myself using these applications in the future for other school projects. For example, if I needed a picture for slides or if I needed a cool and creative background I could just turn to Photoshop and Illustrator to help me out. I chose Lili’u because of her experience as Queen and how she showed humility and loyalty for her people during their time of heartache. She showed what I look for in a leader as well as exemplified what I strive to be as a leader. Queen Elizabeth was similar because she put her people first as well and defended them in their time of need. What I learned about her that was interesting was that she was an advocate for the arts in her time and that she was all for expanding creativity. An interesting thing about Lili’uokalani that I learned was that before she was queen she got sort of a test run first when Kalakaua left on his trip and she was faced with a serious epidemic which she was able to overcome. I felt that this showed her people that she was a capable leader.
