ʻO Makamae Santiago koʻu inoa. No Nuʻuanu mai au.
I think that the whole experience of the iLeader project was a good learning experience. I got to learn about leaders around the world, how to use photoshop, how to use illustrator, etc. I think that the process that I enjoyed the most was getting to choose our leaders. I got to look through Hawaii leaders as well as world leaders to see who was the most interesting. The first leader that I chose was Malietoa Laupepa from Samoa. I chose Malietoa Laupepa because while I was looking at the list of Moananauiakea leaders, I realized that I had no idea about the history of Samoa. Therefore, I decided to study one of the first in a long family line of leaders, Malietoa Laupepa. The Hawaii leader that I chose was king David Kalākaua. I chose King David Kalākaua because iʻve known about him since I was young as he is known as the last male monarch of Hawaii, he brought hula back, etc. However, I have never had a reason to look further into his monarchy.
