For our Kahiau Project, my group decided to plan for a beach clean-up with my familyʻs foundation because our project is on sustainability. Over break one person in our group is a boarder so she went home, another person was sick for most of break so we couldnʻt really get anything done, and I donʻt have an excuse but I really just wanted to relax since I was already busy performing and deep cleaning my house and struggling with family problems. I knew that I was supposed to be doing this project but I also didnʻt want to bother my parents just because thereʻs a lot of stress going on with our situation. I think that we could have done a better job at trying to plan over break because there were some days where we were both free and we could have probably got something done, but we really just wanted to relax and have a break from school. We are going to try to be better at organizing to get the project done by February 1st so we can get the credit for it. I feel like my understanding is improving because of everything that popped up over break and I took the time to read more about it and everything. I think my connection to my leadership skills would show better if I actually tried to do this project because I would be in touch and would actually get something productive done that we couldʻve used for our project as well. enlightenment theoristsThe thing that has impacted my leadership growth the most this semester for me would have to be probably learning about the different kind of problems and struggles that other people have to go through. We learned about empires and all of the wars they have to go through and economic struggles they are dealing with and it really put things into perspective for me and made me think about what I could do as a leader in my own community. Although my home is small, learning these things made me really ponder about what I can do to help prevent anything tragic happening in our land as horrible deaths and such happened all over the world since forever. I think that one thing to strive for excellence in this class thatʻs motivated me to do better would have to be just overall learning more about how to help our planet. So far, itʻs been really cool for me to go ahead and connect all of these things to whatʻs happening in Hawaiʻi and how we are trying to do things better ourselves and itʻs kind of helping the rest of the world. Kapu aloha is something that we recently made for no violence and to keep the land clean and sacred and itʻs been affecting people from around the world and even people that have never been here which goes to show that if we can get enough people to join, soon everyone will be doing it without hesitation. impacts of past worldwide events In the big picture, I mentioned how the Enlightenment, Industrial Revolution, Colonization, and so forth are very similar although different because they all have to do with being sustainable. To be able to create things like this in history, I believe the leadership traits you would need are communication, intelligence, and boldness. When you look at the big picture of this whole thing, itʻs all about business and knowing what you want, and how youʻre going to get it. With these businessmen and workers, they were all leaders because they were talking with people theyʻve never met from lands theyʻve never been to. So, in order to get what you want, no matter what it is youʻd have to have those leadership traits. Now that we see the big picture, letʻs see if it affects how we look at the small picture. In Hawaiʻi we are already struggling with sustainability and I know there are a lot of us working to make it better. The leadership traits that I see that you would need to be able to get this point across would have to be communication, friendly, and disciplined. The reason I say this is because I know how most Hawaiians are and they listen to the people who are very disciplined but also friendly meaning they are like family to you. Communication will always be a huge key to success with these kind of things because if you donʻt know how to communicate well you wonʻt be able to get your message across and people wonʻt listen to you because itʻll seem like you donʻt know what youʻre doing. world war 1The Treaty of Versailles was created for only certain countries during the war, but eventually ended up a huge fight between pretty much the whole world which affected everyone as a whole. Germany expanded, Japan started to move into the Pacific which then brought Hawaiʻi into the war, and so much more. If that Treaty never happened, Japan wouldnʻt have bombed Hawaiʻi, Hitler wouldnʻt have become Chancellor, and it wouldʻve prevented so many wars; though, without all of these events, we wouldnʻt be where we are today which I would say is an improvement. This is why the Treaty of Versailles was the most important document of 20th century.
