Art has many shapes and forms but, I believe it is important for activism. This is because in my opinion art is a universal language that everyone can understand to an extent. Wether it be music, a painting or dance, everyone can sense a mood or vibe it gives off, so even though it may be unfamiliar you can understand it. Activism through art has been around for a long time yet in today's modern world I believe works perfectly. An art-based approach is a positive alternative because it stimulates empathy. Empathy is necessary to achieve social and environmental justice. To effect real change, activism need to work through cultural means. Additionally Art sets an image, and if we want the world to change we have to imagine and see what would change look like. Through this these ideas and ideals inspire us to get up and out in the morning to change the world, and attract others to work with us.
