The plan for our groups community service was to all do our separate things. Due to the fact that we would be in our own areas far away from each other. Chyler would be in Hawaii, Ethan would stay in oahu and I would be on a trip in the mainland. It was a consideration that me and Ethan could work together because I would be home for a couple of days before school started. What ended up happening was nothing. Chyler tried to reach out but nothing happened and me and ethan weren't able to come and meet up anywhere.
Talking about the Kahiau project there was no progress. But for my break that went well I went road tripping from Arizona to Texas to California. And watched the Dallas Cowboys game at the AT&T stadium. What could have gone better was that we communicated more and planned it out better before the break even began. I feel like now that we had this long amount of time to think about it, it let us actually plan and think about how we're gonna do this kahiau project together as a team. And work off of each others ideas to make it better. My understanding of our kahiau issue of homelessness is improving. I thought that only in Hawaii was homelessness a big issue but now I know that many other countries are struggling with this issue as well and are trying to make changes. With this project it helps to deepen your leadership skills and take you out of your comfort zone, and trying to change our future and the world we live in. Although we didn't make any progress during winter break, I think the more we focus and understand our topics our skills expand. For example the way we think and acted upon this issue before the project is totally different from what it is now. And when we actually complete the assignment we will have grown so much more than what we already have. |
