So through the Kahiau Project, we students are learning about and are trying to become global citizens. Global citizens are people who are motivated and take action for the better of the world. They think of others and try to help their community in some sort of way. Our project to help the homeless is taking our group closer to becoming global citizens. Working for and with the homeless gives us a good understanding of other people's perspectives so we can work to help everybody's needs. This project helps us to think of others and not just ourselves. We can also draw out some global citizens by getting others to donate goods to people who need it more. Working with the homeless can be scary to some (and yes, at times things can get a little "risky"), but people need to realize that they are still people. They are a part of our community (especially in Hawai'i) and we should bring them together with the rest of the world.
That's all for now. Until Next Time, See Ya.
