Our topic is called, “Save the Crave.” This topic deals with the issue of homeless and their problem of not having enough food. Due to their lack of money, they have a hard time getting the food and supplies they need, leaving them starving. We are trying to help their problem of hunger by getting as much can food donations as possible to give to them to eat. This is very important because everyone, even the homeless deserves a right to eat and to survive. We should all give a helping hand as human kind.
My group includes Jaydeen, Hauʻoli and Klaudia. We are all in a class together at Kamehameha and our group strives to help others. Over winter break, we would just like to at least start up our can good collections. For example, gathering some donations weʻd like to give to the homeless and getting the word out to other people to make them start thinking about them donating as well. We basically just want to start up with the collection, but we donʻt need to have anything big yet. We didnʻt do a whole lot of the project, but some things that were challenging was just getting this whole project organized. This whole time we have been working on this project it was basically just planning everything out. That was still a very hard step. We had to go through a very long process in making sure everything could be approved by our teacher and everything was set and organized in the right place. We also had to make sure that all of our group members followed and we were all on the right page. I expect to learn and understand the difficulty of a business. Although we are not raising any money like most businesses, we still have to organize and plan everything out like a business and we have already tasted some of that hard work during the process. I also hope I learn to make my work more organized so I can use this skill for the next time I need donations like possibly future fundraisers. I am going to ask my parents for help in getting the word out about getting donations and also possibly getting donations from my parents as well. They can be my mode of transportation while getting the donations and I will also need the help of other classmates and other members in my community with donating.
