Overall I would call our Kahiau project a success. We got to make a difference in our community and help those in need. We went from trying to start a surf competition, to waiting almost a month for a basketball tournament that turns out wasn't going to happen. Finally we end up at a clothes drive where we got nice clothes to give to some pretty cool people. Our goal was to give them the clothes to give them a better appearance for society to accept them so they could get a job and be successful. We will ask the people who receive the clothes to stay in contact with us to see how a piece of clothing will hopefully help make a difference in their overall life and success. This taught me to be a global citizen by teaching me to accept everyone as a human no matter what. Outward appearance doesn't matter as much as inward appearance and who you are as a person. You are apart of my family because you are human and I've learned to accept all people for that. This project has helped me understand individuality and to be accepting of everyone.
