The Malthusian Flux theory contributes to the conflict we are facing in the Black Lives Matter movement by the population of the colored/black people. With the population of the people in the Black Lives Matter movement, it creates a bigger effect on the world. Some examples would be breaking into shops because there is an abundance of people, and even starting riots and protesting on streets in the world. The worst thing that could happen is people killing each other because there is a population going against them.
These things contribute to our Kahiau project by going against our UN Development Goal. Again, our goal is climate action/climate change, we as people are not helping this. All of these things can burn fossil fuels and even cause more reactive things in the earths atmosphere. Some things would be like world wars causing smoke and gases that affect climate change. Even here in Hawaii, causes that happen could be the Mauna movement like people that makes a population being a part of the Malthusian Flux theory. Gandhi reminded me of the Black Lives Matter movement because it shows how some people could be against another race or a different kind of culture. In this case, it would be India and people who are a part of the Black Lives Matter movement. This also reminds me of the Mauna movement as well because people are fighting or protesting until the government or leaders will agree with them of what they want, in that case, it would be sacred land.
Some examples of these connections I mentioned would be the Black Lives Matter movement. It would be people fighting, complaining, protesting, and even causing unnecessary things that don’t need to happen. For example, burning American flags, breaking into stores, and even killing people. In the movie Gandhi, the people treating him like that was not right. I say, treat people the way you want to be treated. Nanda, B. (2020, January 26). Mahatma Gandhi. On my slide in this presentation, I mentioned about farming and how farming worked with animals and crops. My groups Un Development Goal is climate action/climate change. Our goal is to see what can we do as people to help the earth with its changes in climate. This creates the issue of poverty because it has to do with farming again.
Some examples of poverty from the slide I have created are farming and animals. As climate changes today, I wonder if they were going through the same problems some people in our community are suffering today. Examples like unable to grow crops, heat affecting animal’s lives, and more. Climate change will continue to change the world of farming, but in what way will it change it? Graber, C. There are some advantages and disadvantages that work with our UN Development goal. The one that creates the most poverty would be the Scientific revolution because, for example, machines that are used to run the revolution burns fuel that affects climate change. The issue our group chose to study is climate change/climate action.
As years go by way after the scientific revolution, we continue to burn fossil fuels. Fossil fuels create heat and other reactions in the earths atmosphere like global warming, and air pollution. These things are disadvantages to our goal, but some advantages are that our economy is running faster and the creation of technology is helping us to grow more as people. Some technology, for example, phones, computers, health equipment, and forms of transportation, and much more. Some examples for the Agricultural revolution is that farming is becoming an easy thing with the help of the scientific revolution, for example, tractors, farming machinery, and producing a copious amount of animals like cows. I connect to this by me just living in Hawaii where the climate is just all over the place. I feel that climate change has a big part in causing poverty because of it affecting farmlands, people, and most importantly the economy. The goal that me and my group are trying to accomplish is a way to stop climate change or a way to help it from getting worse. A way that people can help stop making climate change increase is to help prevent greenhouse gases and of course, air pollution. The issue of climate action/climate change presents itself as a push back on economies. For example, harming farmlands, affecting people’s health, and even harming animal homes. I connect to this by me living in a hot environment and living in a community that doesn’t have the best climate changes. I also feel that climate change should be a thing that the whole world is trying to help prevent. Eagle, N. (2019, December 14). Hawaii 2040: Climate Change Is Already Here.
