The silk road is actually one of the one of the solutions to my UN Goal which is to solve poverty. The silk road was basically a trading route back hundreds of years and now in the modern day, it's more like planes, ships, and trucks that are transporting goods. Since Hawai'i is an island, we really depend on ships and planes to bring us food and supplies. If we were to all come together as a planet, we could use our modern silk road to bring food to everyone and solve the hunger portion of poverty. Boats & planes. (2019, November 26). Since Hawai'i is an island, that means there is limited space, and once it's all taken, there's no where to go because it's all ocean off the island. Expansion to the Mainland would be better for people in poverty because land is cheaper there because there's more area. Also because there's more land and it's cheaper, more people would be able to afford a house and get out of poverty. Rowan, A.
