Aloha, I learned that art can be used as anything throughout your life and guide you to your passion. What I learned from Dania, an art activism, is that she used art (her passion) to lead her to her great journey. She was a very quiet girl who kept things to herself, but as she used art she made herself become more open to the world. After learning about that, I realized how art is really important through modern society because it guides us to where we can make a change and where we can start a foundation. This is a really great poem that I wrote very thoroughly. So basically my poem is literally discussing the references of light and the different ways it helps the society today. I compared how we can see light used on a daily basis. I reflected my past into how I can use it in the future. My poem means that light is something that we all need in life and that it can help us when we are stuck in a hole. For example, a light bulb is like an idea. When we have the brightest idea it lights up and we can go into depth on that topic. I hope one day, you can find your own personal light bulb and use it for a bright future.

Hi guys! To me the most important connection between World History and current event advocacy is the awareness of our surroundings. I can also relate the connections to a theme I learned in class which is “apply information from the past to solve present problems.” In World History we obviously learn history and how we can use/learn it in the future. In our current events we talk about how things in the world can impact not just one community, but many more. By using world history as a guide throughout our current events and life we can apply what happened in the past to solve present problems and potentially future problems. The most impactful idea that I have gained through Rock Your Word Curriculum about the importance of media advocacy in this generation is to let your idea stand out and let it be heard. To solve problems in the real world you would need to let your ideas get ahead of you and guide you to be successful. Making yourself be heard is what everyone wants in the world. For example, our president runs everything to make sure we get what we need and make everything run smoothly. Sometimes, in order for that to happen you want suggestions from the public and see if everyone agrees on those terms and to see if it will improve. Let your voice be heard, so it can help communities build more on their ideas and how it can help. Akana, H. (2020, June 1). Lā 1D SY20-21: Why Study History?
