Hi guys! To me the most important connection between World History and current event advocacy is the awareness of our surroundings. I can also relate the connections to a theme I learned in class which is “apply information from the past to solve present problems.” In World History we obviously learn history and how we can use/learn it in the future. In our current events we talk about how things in the world can impact not just one community, but many more. By using world history as a guide throughout our current events and life we can apply what happened in the past to solve present problems and potentially future problems. The most impactful idea that I have gained through Rock Your Word Curriculum about the importance of media advocacy in this generation is to let your idea stand out and let it be heard. To solve problems in the real world you would need to let your ideas get ahead of you and guide you to be successful. Making yourself be heard is what everyone wants in the world. For example, our president runs everything to make sure we get what we need and make everything run smoothly. Sometimes, in order for that to happen you want suggestions from the public and see if everyone agrees on those terms and to see if it will improve. Let your voice be heard, so it can help communities build more on their ideas and how it can help. Akana, H. (2020, June 1). Lā 1D SY20-21: Why Study History?
