"In between WW1 and WW2"The overall outcome of WWI was that The Treaty of Versailles was signed, which ordered Germany to reduce itʻs military, take responsibility for WWI and relinquish some of itʻs territory and pay exorbitant reparations to the Allies. This brought Hitler and Germany at a great disadvantage. After having to pay the exorbitant reparations, Germany had a lot of economic problems. These outcomes might have been different if Hitler had not been so discriminatory towards the Jewish people. If he was able to turn Germany against a whole group of people, he also could have led Germans to be better people who respected everyone's religious views and race.
The results of WWI and The Treaty of Versailles impacted the issue of my groups Kahiau project because my groups UN Development goals are sustainability and poverty/homelessness. In terms of environmental impact, World War I was most damaging to sustainability, because of landscape changes caused by trench warfare. Digging trenches caused trampling of grassland, crushing of plants and animals, and churning of soil. Erosion resulted from forest logging to expand the network of trenches. Another way my group's UN development goals were impacted was that after having to pay the exorbitant reparations, Germany had a lot of economic problems. This ended up leading to people losing their jobs which eventually led to poverty. Things only got worse after the great depression. Hawaii was affected in the war because Hawaii also had to send resources to the people fighting in the war leaving Hawaii with less resources for Hawaiians. History.com Editors. (2009, October 29).
