In the movie Gandhi, the imperial mindset is shown by the British wanting to take over India. Gandhi was shown to be a nonviolent leader and he wanted India to have their own independent rights as a country. He had a passive protest towards India’s independence even though he was dismissed by the English officials. He knew that he could help his country come away from the controllment of the British in a nonviolent way. From the Rabbit Proof Fence movie, the country of Jigalong was also invaded by white officials. The English men wanted to seperate the children of Jigalong from their families and bring them to a training camp for domestic working far away from their homeland. Three girls from Jigalong were taken away to the camps, but decided to flee the area and attempt to make it back home. Colonization of the white English men have caused the three girls to make a risky escape so they could be with their families. The mindset of the girls wanting to escape back to the place where they belong shows how colonization has affected many people.
