This discussion informed me about the importance of art and how it can influence a topic. Art is one of those things that is filled with more passion and emotion then just a speech. You can really pour out your feelings on a poem or a picture. You can use pictures to display the actions that are being taken or the actions that are causing a lot of tragedy. Or you can use a poem to talk about a problem in a catchy way that others will remember better. Recently, my biggest community, Keolu skatepark, has lost one of our best friends. His name was Brandon Lodge, but we called him Troll. He was the one that looked out for the park and would clean it. The park was his home and we were his family. These 2 Haiku poems represent the caretaker in him and what he loved most, going fast.

My biggest connection between world history and the current event advocacy is how we both provide similar options to learning about the UN goals. For world history we view the UN goals through the entire world and connect similarities, and for the current event advocacy we learn about them through the events that we or people close to us experience. For example, we would look at how our close community is affected by certain events like poverty.
