I learned that art is an easy way to highlight social concerns about history or modern society because of how easy and eye catching it is. I think that art is an creative outlet where anyone and everyone can express themselves in a way others can understand. Even if itʻs not about advocacy people will still take time to look and appreciate art. For example, all the murals in town some of them are just for show but people still stop and take pictures with them. With modern day events, people are looking for artwork that is meaningful and connected to them. Advocacy now is people supporting people while they do the things that they love the most. We live in a time where everyone is connected no matter where they go and so many forms of art exist now, especially in the digital world. Overall, with the new sources we have art is an easy way to connect with others, advocate for what you believe in, and help change the world. My poem is discussing the sustainability Life Below Water, so I decided to make it obviously about the ocean. I wanted it to be everything I could think of which was simple, meaningful, and complex which I think it achieves for myself. It is talking about how we think of the ocean and the creatures in it, the choice of words used to describe the issue, like below the line what does below really mean is a play on words to do we think creatures in the ocean are below us? Then as you read further is talk about suffocation which is literal, if the fish became land dwelling they would suffocate from pollution in air, and they suffocate from pollution in the sea. Its a bit morbid but for me I think the only way for a fish to escape whatever is in the ocean is death, because no matter where they go the water is still polluted and problems arenʻt being solved.

I think the most important connection between world history and current event advocacy is the fact that history repeats itself. I think a lot of people always say oh well why is history important and someone would respond with well it's important because history doesn't need to repeat itself. And yet we are taught history but repeating the same mistakes and having the same problems. I think that history can be taught but it needs to be understood. The same problems such as racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, and religious discrimination. SO I guess that's the connection I can make, people say things about history yet it still happens today. I think the most important idea or concept I gained is that anyone is able to make a difference in the world. I always had the mindset that since I am just a teen me avocading for something doesnʻt mean anything because people wouldnʻt believe me. I think if I can do one small thing people my age or even older could potentially follow along and start a change. Social media is so important because we have this instant connection people will be able to connect and spread information so much more quickly and efficiently. With that being said that can change the way a lot of people get information and understanding about it. I think this is an amazing way to get solutions for things we think are wrong. Works Cited
