"Kahiau Project, Digital Learning via Distance & Student Lāhui Leadership"I would say that from day 1 to day 30 I have improved in the amount of quality that is put into the work assigned so I deserve a 5. I would say that this happens because I am now aware and understand what is expected and what is needed to present. Since we have had a lot of time to verbally present I know what things need to be said and communicated. I would rate myself a 4 for improvement through digital application because in the beginning I honestly had no clue what or how to use the applications. Now, I am able to understand the instructions and create a beautiful piece. Thirdly, I would rate myself a 4 for independence and the development of my organization skills. Since the start of the class I have learned how much homework I should expect and because of that I can estimate how much time I will be doing it throughout the day.
I would say that the work I learned throughout this course was very educational and taught me many things I didn't know. I am fortunate that I was able to learn about all the countries on Earth and understand it relations to others around it. I felt that learning about your location and its importance was very valuable for my future. By making connections between historical and current events I am able to learn more about what might happen in the future. Through the Kahiau project I was able to learn more about how to collaborate with a group through a phone and laptop. This was definitely my first time working on a project in a group without seeing or talking with them face to face. Through this project I learned some valuable information about current issue in Hawaiʻi. (n.d.). Retrieved July 11, 2020, from https://www.google.com/search?q=leadership

Empirical Globalization in the 21st CenturyLā Hoʻihoʻi Ea is Hawaii's independence day on July 31, 1843. This was the day the Hawaiian kingdom was able to break away from Britain. Our families in todays generation have to balance new modern technology/western ideas with cultural uses of resources. There are only a few farmers that own acreage and use this for producing crops and local jobs. Since, it has been a struggle for natives to regain land back from American companies it has been a struggle to gain control over all our resources. To make sure we have a voice I think its a good idea for there to be Hawaiian voices in government and educational systems teaching the culture and how to utilize the land so it wonʻt be forgotten in this now modern worlds. We can see this in the officials elected to OHA with Hawaiian ancestry.
I was given a great opportunity to be offered such a great education. Since I come from a family of alumni I always had the goal and intention to attend this school. I also went into the school with the intention to make the most out of this gift. I can use this knowledge that I am gaining to impact my community in a positive way. I can do this by making sure my voice is heard when others need to be spoken for. Another option is to go into a career that is able to make decisions based on the cultural values I know we should have. Some examples I can do is become apart of a board of some sort to make decisions for Hawaii. (n.d.). The effects after the storm were most horrific as the total repairs needed are very expensive. Sarah writes that the estimate $1.2B is only a baseline estimate and could go higher. This issue connects to the geography theme of Location. When people move to a certain area or are raised there they develop an understanding of the lifestyle and the weather. It is important to know these things before moving to a different location and creating a home there.
My opinion on this disaster is very empathetic towards the people and also very understanding. My mentality and way of thinking puts the land towards the top of my list or priorities. Since I think this way I know that this mustʻve been hard but I know that this is something that wouldʻve happened no matter what and itʻs natural. This disaster connects to the World History theme of Decent Work and Economic Growth. This UN Development goal connects to how much the community is going to have to work together to recover and regain momentum. In history we can see that the other empires of Europe valued relations and protecting their own reputation. This shows that they value their nation and would do anything for it. America is pretty similar to fighting and thinking about what would make America look better. They manage their resources in correlation to the betterment of the American people. America has have taken land or occupied certain areas and used it for different reasons. One example was from the lecture, stating that America disrespected and abused their relations in Micronesia to use the islands for bombing. The United States also colonized Hawaii so they could have an advantage over Japan and overall wanted to expand and conquer more land.

Retrieved July 07, 2020, from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_testing_at_Bikini_Atoll The presence of America in Hawaiʻi is the thing that fueled our Kahiau Project Problem. The issue of poverty started due to the rise of importance and how much people nowadays rely on money. When Colonization happened they influenced our beliefs and added some of their own which was that some people are worth more than others. They had the idea that some were meant to be successful and greed allowed them to take more and more money. Since this was happening in the islands, big companies kept developing new technology and building new skyscrapers and left behind those that are suffering financially. In Hawaii there are lots of people that canʻt get a job that provides enough money for them o pay the high rent or high cost to purchase a house. (n.d.). This was according to the World Banks latest country classifications by income level. These classifications are renewed annually every July 1. This event and important change shows how much better Indonesia has gotten at facing their problems and using the land in an efficient way. This change of title shows that the whole community was able to get better jobs that provide more money for their lifestyle.
My opinion was a sense of pride for all humans and those that strive to make the whole community a better place. It made me feel happy for them that they were able to achieve a title that shows their hard work. It shows how they were able to reduce poverty and increase pay so the people can benefit. I think it is so important for this to happen because it is also my groups focal problem. This emergency connects to the World History theme of Decent Work and Economic Growth. Since Germany was harshly taxed, allowed no military and forced to recognize their wrong-doing they felt bullied. Since they were feeling this way they wanted change and a leader sho can bring that to them. Adolf Hitler offered them a Germany that would be fair for them and a nation that would have their revenge. Since everyone was in a vulnerable environment they all liked this idea similar to the phrase “Make America Great Again”. This motto and way of thinking is part of Nationalism, to have pride and relying on no other nation but their own. If these rules of the treaty were not as harsh as they were following World War 1, I do not think Hitler would have gained so many votes.
Both events impacted the idea others have on different races. As we will learn later on, during World War 2 there was a lot of Discrimination against Jews and nations that would team up together to take down a common enemy. We learned that Italy and Germany were alliances because they realized they had similarities and one of those was a dislike towards Jew. This sadly is what led to the mass genocide of the group. This way of thinking also led to others wanting to be better or become apart of a higher class. This then led to many striving for more money and since this was becoming a big goal across nations some were unable to keep up and became poor. The problem our groups is focusing on is “poverty” and the rising costs of living. In Hawaii, we see this problem through homelessness which shows that there are people who strive to be at the top and this way of thinking came by colonization. (n.d.).
