The most important connection between World History and current event advocacy is that we see how our current event issues relate to what had happened in the past which we had learned in World History class. For example in my current event write up I had focused on the issue of energy poverty in Australia. The issue of energy poverty came to be because of the coronavirus pandemic. In class we had learned about the past pandemics like the flu, and black death. Some things that are happening today in the current pandemic could have also happened in the past. For example people struggling to pay bills because of the lack of business and staying home and using more energy and resources. Says:, S. H., & Says:, M. (2018, September 24). From the many guest speakers we have had they had created something and put it out in the world to address an issue and had their voice heard. It inspires us when making our own projects because it shows us that our voices matter and that we can make a difference. Some of the speakers were activists and made film, music, and other things in order to send a message. It shows us that our voices can be heard in many different ways.
