The fall of Rome was due to various reasons, the most notable being the lack of money. Without a sufficient amount of money, the Empire known as Rome fell. Much like Rome, the U.S. is suffering from huge debt and lack of money. As of December 2018, the U.S. owes China a debt of $1.12 trillion, the U.S. is bound to fall only with the debt we owe China. As of June 19, 2018, the U.S. Senate voted to give the military $716 billion for 2019, approving one of the biggest defense budgets in modern American history despite concerns from some economists and lawmakers about the rapidly rising federal deficit. It seems as if we are overspending on our military forces, just as Rome. Another one of the main reasons why Rome fell was due to their overexpansion and military overspending. Rome also fell because of its government corruption and political instability. Many Americans today would argue that the government is corrupted and political spendings are far exceeding the ideal amount. Environmental And Public Health Problems lead to the fall of Rome. Many Rich Romans died of led from the led pipes they used for drinking water. Lead consumption can affect the heart, kidneys, and nerves. Since 2015 the state of Michigan has been suffering from polluted/unclean water. The state found dangerously high levels of led in the water, residents reported various cases where the water tasted different and smelt funny. According to Demandt, the Roman Empire’s fall was impacted by their racial discrimination. You could say that President Trump's actions to deport and separate families are very similar to the Roman Empires racist actions.
