The government was so focused on these other problems they had. They didn’t see that racism was still a thing going on. And the Black Lives Matter movement was a wake up call to them. Saying that “Hey, this is still an issue. Fix it.” I think after this they will have a little more vision on what is happening around the world. It doesn’t really affect poverty because no one is losing anything. If something is a problem for long enough something bad is bound to happen eventually. I think the Malthusian Flux theory is actually playing a big role in everyone's Kahiau issue. The government is so out of touch with all of these other small issues that they just let it keep getting worse. They are focused on this pandemic and other world issues. Their attention is so set onto that, they do not see what else is happening around them. Water in China is getting worse everyday. Poverty levels are getting higher. It just gives another reason why the government has to look at these other issues because they are the cause of all of it. The Mauna movement is also a good example. The government approved building this telescope on Mauna Kea; they didn’t know the deep connection the natives had with it. They wanted to build this to increase their knowledge of space they had no respect for what they were going to build it on. March 13, 2. (2020, June 25).
