I think I improved the concept of quality work by a lot. I rate myself a 3.5, before I was kind of doing everything mediocre then after all of the research I eventually got the hang of making all of the ideas come together. I was doing quality work during the school year but during the summer I want to be kind of laid back and relax. Doing 1 week of work every day was kind of overwhelming sometimes. I think as time goes on my quality of work will improve even more and so will the other skills that come along with this course.
I think now I am a 4. Before I liked working in groups but being independent lets me think about my ideas more. In groups some people don’t come through with their share of work and it messes up everything. If one person does not do their work then it makes the whole group held back a little bit. I have also been a lot more organized when it comes to doing my work and where everything is. And finding ways to figure something out if it’s either asking my teacher or classmates. It definitely was. There were certain topics that were very interesting to me. I didn’t realize how much abuse the Jews experienced. I knew bad things happened to them but it was worse than I imagined. I will probably remember the things that interested me. I also learned how it connects to current events happening today and how things in the past may have influenced things today. When something like the Black Lives Matter movement happens again then we will know why people of color are mistreated. You can see how history has affected today's society. In the future someone from this class could be the solution to all of this and use history to solve a problem. Another World War could start and we may be able to find a fast solution to save a lot of lives. It has been very valuable. I didn’t see the importance of technology until I learned about the Industrial Revolution and World War’s. It also is one big factor that impacts our UN development goal. It hurts and helps our goal but I think it will only hurt it more. As time goes on new things will be invented and the world will be evolved. Soon water in China may be undrinkable and how are scientists going to fix it? Technology. Seeing how history still impacts our world today is very valuable. Bobby Parker. (2013, May 07). Summary
Due to Covid-19 the tourism industry in Fiji has been hit hard. Now they want to attract locals. They are making special packages to attract the local people. Even though some of them have the tourist attractions right outside of their doorstep Fiji needs this to work because tourism is the backbone of their economy. With 40,000 workers unemployed and having travel restrictions the industry has been frozen for 3 months. According to the Bureau of Statistics, there have been 709 total visitors in May 2020 but compared to last year there were 73,169 visitors last May. Showing the impact of Covid-19 on tourism statistics. Geography Theme I think this relates to place because Fiji is located in the middle of the ocean. There are many things that attract tourists every year. And since tourists cannot travel to Fiji during this time. It affects the whole place. The hotels and restaurants are not getting as much income anymore. The tourist reliant places are taking a big toll during this pandemic. Reaction It’s no surprise that places that rely on tourism are being hit hard during this pandemic. Since no one can travel anywhere that means there are less and less tourists. It’s nice to see that one place is trying to find solutions to keep their economy up and not let it die. I think other places have to start doing something like this to make the locals interested in what their place has to offer. Connections/Analysis This connects to analyzing history strengthens our critical thinking skills. The leaders of Fiji had to find a way to keep making money for themselves. Even though it was a risk to do this they still saw that only good could come out of it. If they didn’t do anything then they would slowly go into a bad situation that would be hard to get out of. If this keeps them stable until the pandemic is over I think this is something that other places should follow or start using in the future. News, R. (2020, July 08). Fijians urged to support local tourism. Retrieved July 09, 2020, from https://www.rnz.co.nz/international/pacific-news/420821/fijians-urged-to-support-local-tourism We can still balance our European/Western sense but I feel like we have to embrace out Native values more. For example, we can take care of our land. If you see some trash on the ground you should go pick it up. Basically anything we can do to preserve our land helps out. Our ancestors relied heavily on the land and it helped them out a lot. So the least we can do is to take care of it. To make sure that we are valued in the future we should have things that only our Native people know how to do. For example, the food we make and other things we make. If only our Native people knew about those things our culture would have something more to offer. Everyone that gets the opportunity to be in Kamehameha should take their opportunity to learn and educate themselves. If people take it seriously they can do some amazing things in the future that can help out the lāhui. For every spot taken at Kamehameha, 10 other people would want to be in your position. We should use that as a way to take our school a little bit more seriously. People from our school could be the next president or impactful leader like Gandhi. People of color are still being mistreated right now and only one native has to speak up. Having a permanent impact on people of color would be the first step to having our people remain steadfast. 5-malama-aina. (2016, December 01). Retrieved July 09, 2020, from

I think since we have an abundance of resources we have a lot of excess resources. And that’s why our food and material is sold all over the world. And now we don’t need expansion because everyone can ship their resources to different parts of the world. Before the predecessors would have to take over another place to unlock new resources. Native people aren’t being treated differently than before. People aren’t treating them the same because of their color. And the government has done nothing about it. No policies or laws have been put down so every no matter what skin color is treated equally. America has brought all of its technology and inventions to Hawaii. Factories, buildings and businesses were made. Pollutants from factories go into the sky making the rain more acidic. And also the sewage from the factories pollute the water. If Hawaii was left alone and America never found us then I think that the condition of the water would be way more clean. Even though we wouldn’t be as developed like other places we would still have been doing fine. Our ancestors survived and so could we. And it ended up in Germany having a poor economy and weak government. If the Treaty of Versailles didn’t punish Germany so hard then Hitler would have never come in and say “I can fix all of it.” If all of the nations included paid for a little of it and Germany paid a little bit more than they wouldn’t have had a poor economy in the first place. Ending up in Hitler never becoming popular and not starting WW2. He would have still been arrested and kept in jail. It was such a bad time he gave hope to people and that's why people liked what he was saying. The advancement of technology because of WWI was another step to make our issue of clean water and sanitation even worse. If technology during war times wasn’t so heavily used then no one would have tried to make advancements. There would still be pollution in the world but a lot less than we have now. The thirty meter telescope was planned to be built on Mauna Kea. This was another big technological advancement that was being made. Everyday new technology is being made for good and bad. Sometimes it can help out the water. Sometimes it can pollute the water even more. Chris Smith Last updated: 10 November 2018 - 8.56am. (n.d.). World War One I communications technology.
