The government was so focused on these other problems they had. They didn’t see that racism was still a thing going on. And the Black Lives Matter movement was a wake up call to them. Saying that “Hey, this is still an issue. Fix it.” I think after this they will have a little more vision on what is happening around the world. It doesn’t really affect poverty because no one is losing anything. If something is a problem for long enough something bad is bound to happen eventually. I think the Malthusian Flux theory is actually playing a big role in everyone's Kahiau issue. The government is so out of touch with all of these other small issues that they just let it keep getting worse. They are focused on this pandemic and other world issues. Their attention is so set onto that, they do not see what else is happening around them. Water in China is getting worse everyday. Poverty levels are getting higher. It just gives another reason why the government has to look at these other issues because they are the cause of all of it. The Mauna movement is also a good example. The government approved building this telescope on Mauna Kea; they didn’t know the deep connection the natives had with it. They wanted to build this to increase their knowledge of space they had no respect for what they were going to build it on. March 13, 2. (2020, June 25). Summary In Australia’s New South Wales koala’s have been thriving marsupials and now their habitats have been ravaged by disease and climatic events. And now they are on track to extinction. For the past year, blazes statewide have affected 24% of koala habitats. Chairwoman Care Faehrmann said, “The strategies and policies currently in place to protect the koala aren’t working.” 42 recommendations to help koalas were welcomed by the government but were not adopted. Climate change is a continuing threat to wildlife and is harmful to the koalas survival. Geography Theme I think this relates to place because in Australia bushfires happen all the time. If it's from lightning or a rock hitting another rock. It happens a lot. And it doesn’t only hurt the humans but it affects the wildlife even more. Animals that rely on plants to eat have a smaller food source because it gets burnt down. Koalas for example eat the eucalyptus tree. Diseases such as chlamydia have hit koalas hard. They severely impact a koala’s health and some populations see a 100% infection rate. Reaction When I was looking for articles about Australia I was very shocked to see this article. One of Australia’s most iconic animals. Habitat loss and wildfires are not doing them any good. It’s sad that they are on track to extinction. If Australia wants to save the lives of koalas they need to act now and figure something out before it’s too late. If koalas go extinct it’s like having one of Hawaii’s state animals going extinct. And that would just be totally devastating. This is where I feel like the government has to use their power and resources to help the koalas out. Connections/Analysis This connects to gathering evidence, and to find patterns and trends. Something like this will happen to another animal population so the government should find a solution to this problem and use it as a model for future problems. Australia will always have wildfires and animals so they should know how to handle this if they figure it out now. Other places around the world can possibly use this solution if something like this happens to them. We should all be very cautious about what is happening around us. You never know. Tomorrow one of our state animals could be close to extinction too. And we would be in the same situation as Australia. To prepare we have to make sure we take care of our land and keep it healthy. That made him see that Indian people did not have equal rights like the other races did. He then encouraged all of the people that came to his protest to burn their passes. This then evolved into Gandhi getting hit by the policeman and he did absolutely nothing he just kept on throwing the passes into the fire. This applies to the Black Lives Matter movement because the only people being violent in the movement are the policemen. The protesters aren’t doing anything. They are just standing up for what they believe in and do not want to be violent. I think the Gandhi approach is a model that everyone uses now. Gandhi saw that if you fight back you are no better than the people attacking you. Even though when he was thrown into jail and beaten he said that you should just love the opposition. Mauna Kea is a good example of Gandhi’s model. People did not want the telescope to be built there so they set up their tents and protested. People were arrested but no one resisted. Eventually the project was postponed but when they come back again, all of the people will be there. Erickson, E., & Scechter, B. (n.d.).

Just like my last vlog the topic does not really affect my goal. Guns, Germs & Steel were used to dominate other places. Germs could have a small contribution to this goal. When outsiders came to New Guinea they brought germs which made the native people sick. And ultimately killed a lot of natives there. The water could have been used to dump the bodies in and let them rot which causes the water to be polluted. If anything water was used in these civilizations for their agricultural needs. In today's society we have all been affected by the coronavirus. Just like the Westerners, the virus has spread to every place around the world. Everywhere you go you can see people with their mask on. Some people are dying because of it and some places are not. Just watching the news you will probably see at least one story on the coronavirus. Scientists all over the world are trying to find a cure for the virus. Not only Hawaii but almost everywhere else, a social distancing plan has been put into place. This is to help reduce the spread of the virus. This means that you can’t go out as much anymore. Now in China they still do this. Rice is a big crop in China. It makes up about half of China’s total grain output. The revolution was probably the earliest form of using water to their advantage. Now pesticides are a thing. And it is used in farming and it has potential to contaminate the water which makes water sanitation worse. The Scientific Revolution and age of Enlightenment didn’t really create our issue. Not only in China but all over the world. Everyday people go to their farms and tend to their crops. Over time things were made to control insect infestation and weed growth. Even though it does good things it still harms the water. It can also harm humans. A few things are being done to minimize the use of pesticides. An organization was made to inform people of what pesticides to do not only water but people as well. They say to find non-toxic chemicals to provide the same purpose. Works Cited:

They don’t have money to buy a home or water/necessities. Our UN Goal is clean water and sanitation. People in China that don’t have access to clean water have to drink from bodies of water in China. Most of those bodies are very polluted and unsafe to drink from. Bacteria and waste are inside the water. Water pollution is an ongoing problem not only in China but all over the world. Some places don’t even have water to drink. In Hawaii we have beaches all around the island. It’s like seeing people not clean up after themself and eventually that trash rolls into the ocean. Piles of trash floating in the ocean is one thing we can see. There are many organizations in Hawaii that want to bring people together to clean up beaches. In China this problem is even worse. Human and natural waste go into the water everyday. Runoff from factories also makes the water worse. The color of the water changes over time. China is trying to improve farming so that it can help the condition of their water. Shemie, D., & Vigerstol, K. (n.d.). China has a water crisis - how can it be solved?
