When reflecting back on the World War 1 and 2 scientific Advancements made in the name of Technology, I do not believe that the cost to humanity was worth the gain. I say this because a lot of the advancements made were made to destroy, kill, and create chaos. For example, the atomic bomb. In just the testing phase of the bomb, it caused damage to the earth, other animals, and even humans (in the case when the US bombed the Marshall islands). Even worse when the bomb was set off in Japan, killing many many innocent people and leaving post consequences. This is why I donʻt understand the benefits of creating these war technologies if they are only helping people kill others. Itʻs just not worth it. There are still a lot of consequences from these advancements that still impact our modern society here in Hawaiʻi. I can even build on from what I was saying about the bombs. When the US was testing this new technology they set one off in the Marshall Islands. These were inhabited islands. There are still descendants from the people who were alive during these tests that face the consequences from all the radiation their kupuna was exposed to. The bombs also serve as a threat and a source of fear to people as well. Just recently a couple years ago there was that scare with a bomb coming to Hawaiʻi. That put everyone in panic and fear. The creations of these deadly technologies bring just damage physically and mentally. It is not worth advancing these technologies at the cost of lives or even money. Thatʻs my opinion
